ABOUT RIGHT TO DIE
NOTES ON THE WORK OF THE SOCIAL WORKER WITH CANCER PATIENTS IN PALLIATIVE CARE
Keywords:
Social work, Oncology, Palliative care
Abstract
The most diverse higher education courses focused on health, have their pedagogical political programs focused exclusively on curative and restorative practices of the patient's health, leaving aside an extremely important debate that is part of the life cycle, that is, death. Based on this assumption, this article will not only deal with the right to life, but also the right to die, and above all, to die with dignity. Therefore, a bibliographic review will be presented to support the debate regarding Palliative Care, as well as the more practical aspects, regarding the work process of the Social Worker inserted in a multidisciplinary team.
