A “verdade das pedras”
Vivências na pesca artesanal a partir de um grupo de pescadores na localidade de Gargaú (RJ)
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to reflect on the “world of fishing” inherent to a group of fishermen in the town of Gargaú, a neighborhood nestled in the estuary of the Paraíba do Sul River, belonging to the municipality of São Francisco de Itabapoana. Through field research concerned with records via ethnographic itineraries and records of the subjects' speeches in interviews, Gargaú's “world of fishing” is thought. This world is endowed with secrecy, counter-secrecy, norms and conventions proper to survival in the fishing activity in this locality. Based on these reflections, we point to the undivided unity inherent in this work practice and we perceive a whole dynamic focused on a collective right specific to the subjects who make fishing their daily lives. This article is the result of research funded by the Pescarte Environmental Education Project (PEA), which is a mitigation measure required by the Federal Environmental Licensing, conducted by IBAMA.Downloads
