CONSERVATISM, LIBERALISM AND SIENTIFIC SOCIALISM
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES FOR A POLITICAL DEBATE
Abstract
Conservatism, liberalism and socialism are burning topics that populate the political debate. In the boiling of noisy moods: liberals and socialists accuse conservatives of being backward and intolerant; socialists and conservatives accuse liberals of being selfish and indifferent to the suffering of others; conservatives and liberals accuse socialists of being dogmatic and authoritarian. The purpose of this article is to provide a summary exposition of conservatism, liberalism and scientific socialism. As methodology, a bibliographic review is used on the nuances present in the terms in vogue in the public spectrum. It concludes by highlighting the relevance of increasingly distorted concepts, especially in a period when, in Brazil and abroad there is a crisis of perspectives and passions that outline contemporary political confrontations.
