IMPACT OF THE HEALTH POLICY ON THE SUPPLY OF BEDS IN ADULT INTENSIVE CARE UNITS IN THE STATE PUBLIC NETWORK OS ESPÍRITO SANTO BEFORE AND DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
Beds in Intensive Care Units (UTI) are highly complex and cost-effective, organized through the regulation center, which operate continuously, with the aim of regulating hospital beds in establishments of the unified health system (SUS), optimizing and thus ensuring timely user access and recovery. The objective of this research is to analyze the supply and regulation time of adult UTI beds available at SUS capixaba hospitals from August 2019 to August 2021, and the impact that public policies had on demand. This is an observational, retrospective and documentary research, using data from the National Registry of Health Establishments (CNES), of the Center for Regulation of Beds of Espírito Santo and documents on public policies related to the management of UTI beds published on the websites of the federal government and the state secretariat. It is expected that the survey of existing public policies on bed management, added to data obtained on the availability of UTI beds before and during the pandemic, it allows tracing the impact of public policies adopted in this period and reflect on the supply of beds leitos of UTI in the state public network.
