UM ESTUDO SOBRE REPRESENTAÇÕES SOCIAIS

Abstract

This article aims to analyze social representations that people have regarding the use of natural resources and land property in Pelotas/RS, considering the charges now imposed by a new legal and institutional framework, which is inspired by sustainability, preservation of natural resources and non-exclusive use by agriculture and livestock. Serge Moscovici´s Theory of Social Representations is the theoretical basis and interpretative focus used for analyzing information collected from interviews made during this research. This theoretical tool proved itself to be relevant when we found that besides being prescriptive, social representations conventionalize people, objects and events.
