MODERNIDADE LÍQUIDA E LIBERDADE CONSUMIDORA
O PENSAMENTO CRÍTICO DE ZYGMUNT BAUMAN
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to investigate the critical thought of Zygmunt Bauman on three main points: the dissolution of the reference points and stability characteristic of solid modernity which provided some guidance for a individual life construction; the frantic search for identity that leaves no room for the a collective life construction, and the consumer freedom that provides to the liquids individuals the dream of a happy life that will never come. Zygmunt Bauman is a polish sociologist who also has been producing his works within a critical milestone. Bauman's aim is to understand what is the possibility of rescuing the collective action for social justice in the time that modernity becomes increasingly individualized and privatized, where public space becomes increasingly emptied of translation functions of individual questions in collective ones and the individuals are increasingly subject to give a biographical solution to problems that lead to greater breadth of the social tissue.
