UM ESTUDO DE CASO NO MUNICÍPIO DE SÃO JOSÉ DO POVO-MT
Abstract
The youth in Brazil’s rural area has received prominent attention in view of their importance for rural areas sustainability , identified as the continuity of projects dreamed up by their parents. It is indeed detected in brazilian rural areas that young people are leaving the field and going into town. The question raised is if young people leave the land, what is the prospect for the family farm? To accomplish this research were selected four factors considered as a basis for local development: Food Security, Education, Health and Leisure. The established hypothesis was that the unsustainability may be result from the failure in one or more of these factors and that is why young people fail to foresee future in rural areas. From this hypothesis was provided a form and applied a sample survey among high school students from the public school Ludovico Vieira de Camargo in the town of São José do Povo, MT. The results indicate insecurity for young people in the four factors listed as a basis for local development.
