Abstract

This text aims to discuss the construction of a traffic light on the Tinkercad platform with students
from the 5th year of a public school in the city of Votorantim — SP. The actions are linked to the

Educational Robotic sproject: a proposal for Elementary School I, which has been under deve-
lopment since the first semester of 2022 by a group of students, assisted with resources from

the Coordination of Affirmative Actions and Diversity (CAADI), of the State University Paulista
(UNESP). Guided by the STEAM approach and by what has come to be called in the Mathematics
Education survey region of Technological Education, we developed workshops to introduce
the programming logic with Scratch and developed prototypes such as automatic gel alcohol
dispenser, remote control cart, presence alarm, traffic light. The latter is discussed in this work
because we understand the existence of the possibility of approaching content connected with
the present of students, who live in a reality with little contact with digital technologies. The
scope of the text also extends to the theme of affirmative actions, which play an important role
in combating social inequality and segregation, allowing people belonging to socially marginalized
groups to reach spaces of influence in the educational, political, economic, socio-professional
and cultural spheres.
