PROMOVENDO A CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO AMBIENTAL POR MEIO DE UM PROJETO DE EXTENSÃO NO MUNICÍPIO DE JURUTI-PA.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of the first workshop of an extension project
at the Federal University of Western Pará, developed by students of the Mining Engineering
and Agronomy courses, from the University Campus of Juruti-PA. The objective was to raise
environmental awareness, seeking to reduce environmental damage caused by construction
waste and the disposal of plastic buckets in the trash. For this, workshops were created using the
technique of mosaic art to dialogue with the internal and external community on the subject of
sustainability. Based on the activities of the workshop, the project also sought to promote the
art of mosaic as an option for income generation or occupational therapy. It is concluded that
the activities carried out in the first workshop have promoted environmental awareness and
the expansion of sustainability concepts.
