A CARTILHA E A DOBRADURA DE PAPEL COMO INSTRUMENTOS DE EDUCAÇÃO PATRIMONIAL
Abstract
The Living Heritage extension project of the Universidade do Vale do Taquari - Univates aims to
transform the social attitude towards cultural heritage in the region of Vale do Taquari/RS. Since
2018, extension actions have been done in the cities of Santa Clara do Sul, Forquetinha, Cruzeiro
do Sul and BomRetiro do Sul. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, this form of action in the
communities was interrupted. To continue the activities, the project innovated by developing
heritage education instruments aimed at students in the 4th and 5th year of elementary school
in municipal public schools. This work aims to report the creative process of construction of two
heritage education instruments: the booklet RecolorindoMemórias (volume 1 and 2) and the
Paper Folds, which propose a playful look at remaining buildings from the colonization period
of the region. For the production of the booklets and folders, it has been selected constructions
recognized by the communities, which were identified in the conversation circles carried out in
the in-person extension actions. The folds were made from the redesign of selected buildings
and the booklets from sketches, both developed by volunteers from the extension project. The
use of these instruments as a pedagogical tool is innovative in all its multiple aspects, senses
and meanings, as experience and direct contact with evidence and manifestations of culture has
the potential to lead children to an active process of knowledge, appropriation and appreciation
of their cultural heritage.
