Communication, technologies and memories
a case of preservation and memory of information and communication technologies
Abstract
This article aims to present the results obtained during a year of activities of the extension project “Communication: Technologies and Memories”. The project carries out continuous research on the historical evolution of information and communication technologies, collecting and cataloging objects considering the relationship between the evolution of information and communication technologies and changes in cultural habits. This report presents the activities carried out from March to December of the year 2021, with a (a) physical exhibition, (b) the development of a platform for virtual exhibition and (c) a round of conversations with professionals. The three actions described in this report contributed to presenting the history and evolution of the media to people of different generations and the connection between this history and the evolution of society itself. In addition, they provided the opportunity for interaction between academics and the community, having played their role as a university extension.
