X SEMACIT multiple approaches of knowledge, art, culture, science and technology
the challenges of organizing a remote event during times of pandemic
Abstract
The present work aims to demonstrate the importance of academic weeks, especially in the current moment of the COVID-19 pandemic, for the dissemination of learning, integration of knowledge, synergy of students and their guardians with the Institute, spreading the Institu- te's work to the external community, among others. The objective of this paper is to share the experience of the extension of the IFRJ, with the creation of the academic week adapted to the reality of the quarantine imposed by the pandemic, which started in the year 2020. In order to carry out the X SEMACIT, in this new reality, an online platform was chosen, Even3, for hosting the event and a team of 63 people to organize and provide the necessary support. Integrated with the academic week, the IX Scientific Initiation Day and II Extension Day took place, with 81 papers submitted and presented and the generation of Proceedings. It was observed that this format, compared to the face-to-face format, enabled the participation of a much larger number of people, with 1002 participants. Such involvement provided a much richer exchange of experiences and information, resulting from the participation of people from all over Brazil. It is worth mentioning that an event of this magnitude, in the current situation, is extremely important, as it promoted the unity of students, the feeling of belonging to the institution and integration with the community outside the campus, showing the excellence of teaching quality, research and extension of Federal Institutes and the importance of academic weeks.
