Study on the realization of cultural competitions in extension projects
Abstract
This work presents a study about the realization of cultural competitions in extension projects. Its need is justified by the lack of guiding documents for the practice of such activity in academic institutions, although it is known that it is used in these spaces. The article results from research for theoretical foundation and from documentary research to support the execution of a cultural competition whose received works were later released in a virtual exhibition. The objective is to report this search for theoretical foundations as well as to analyze the results obtained in order to strengthen the practice of cultural competitions. Relevant legislation and extension models are considered. To obtain the documentary corpus, the Google Scholar platform is used and, for the text processing, the AntConc software. The methodology used for the treatment of this corpus is Content Analysis. In the discussion of the results, it is observed a growing use of the cultural competition as an instrument for dissemination and awareness and the need for a more adequate definition of the term.
