Abstract

The present article, based on the concepts of Cornelius Castoriadis, is about some of imaginary significations from public highschool studentes in relation to the school itself and the meaning of studying in contemporary society. The “vestibular” is analized as a ritual of passenge to the world of professions and participating in mythical construction of progress. The vestibular is also analized as disciplinary technique and examination suported by the contributions of Michel Foucault. Through the students statements, we can see that one of the results of body and desire’s good trainning, that must be channeled to the examination, is the difficulty to give free rain to imagination and propose a imaginative highschool education process.
