Abstract
The article discusses the impact of the recent and profound transformations in the economy, in the politics, in the culture for education, curriculum and teacher training. It describes, sinthetically, some of these transformations. It emphasizes, for curriculum and for teacher training, the importance of the reestructurations made by the neoliberal politics, but it calls attention also to other changes coming from epistemological turnings made by certains social movements such as the women’s movement, for example. The essay concludes by trying to describe what are the possible effects of these changes for education and school.
