THE NATIONAL EXAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL (ENEM)
conceptual purposes and implications in the pedagogical practice
Abstract
The Idea that has conducted the evaluational systems in Brazil, in different teaching levels, are based on the idea that the evaluation can provide a better quality teaching. Some characteristics evidenced in this process showed the competitiveness as a base to the guarantee of better performance of the students and the schools. The National Exam for high school (ENEM) is considered an opportunity of self evaluation given to them, aiming future choices related to their future studies and/or a position in the work market. This text talks about concept presuppositions and the structure of this test related to its skills and competences, and, through the analysis of the teacher’s interviews, trying to show how this evaluation practice has presented repercussions on the praxis in this teaching level.
