Abstract

This text presents a study in the area of teacher education - Teaching the Young and Adults (EJA) - and has its origin in the author's practice as a professor in Pedagogy (Teaching the First Grades, and the Young and Adults) at UERGS - State University of Rio Grande do Sul. As a UERGS professor, besides teaching some of the syllabus components regarding this theme, the author has organized meetings on teacher education for EJA teachers in Bagé, RS, for two years. To reflect about the education of teachers who teach the young and adults, the author mentions that action-research is the procedure that allows, with Freire and Marx, to believe that reflection on the practice is the trigger for the awareness process.
