primary issues for a debate on violence against women and on education

Abstract

This paper aims at starting a debate on the supremacy of maleness in the educational process: it leads to the maintenance of violence against women, besides the maintenance of limited sexuality for everybody. How is the issue of women’s inferiority towards men approached in everyday life? The analysis of the tricks and of the effectiveness of this process, which has been culturally constructed for a long time, is based on some feminist theories. I try to report the methodological experience produced by a feminist theology as an initial exercise. It consists of thinking about how the process of learning how to be a woman and a man, nowadays, can be made visible. At the end of the text, I present the exercise of viewing education that takes into consideration the knowledge experienced by women so as to re-direct educational practices towards more equal and less subjugated human relations.
