TRANSVERSAL THEMES, SEXUAL IDENTITY, AND SCHOOL CULTURE
a criticism of the sexuality version defined in the PCN
Abstract
This paper discusses the definition of the national curriculum parameters (PCN) established for the elementary school. It problematizes their conception and their elaboration process; it also aims at discussing the power dynamics that shape sexual identities in the interaction with the school. Based on the analysis of the transversal theme, Sexual Education, I problematize the exertion of power will towards children, thus, producing a kind of a childlike subjectivity which is transfigured by the establishment of a national curriculum model. This model does not question the respect for differences, or the production of an individual's identity.
