DISTANCE EDUCATION, INITIAL TRAINING OF TEACHERS, PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
a possible combination?
Abstract
In the decade 2000 the higher education in distance mode got a rapid growth in Brazil, especially after the promulgation of the Law of Directives and Bases of National Education (Law No.9394/96). Most of these vacancies allocated the initial training of teachers to basic education. Due to this situation, this paper aims to analyze the effects that these courses have been leading to the personal and professional development of students who attended higher distance courses in Pedagogy and Normal courses at superior level. To develop the study, it was done a survey of the postgraduate production on the subject in the bank of theses of the Coordination of Improvement of People of Higher Level (CAPES) followed of the selection and reading of the works in the totality. The analysis made had evidenced that significant contributions were brought by the courses to the students, in the perspective of the researchers, but problems had been also pointed, disclosing the importance of this debate for the elaboration of educational politics in the area, in our country.
