THE SCHOOL AS A SPACE FOR POLITICAL ACTION
analysis in the light of Habermas’ communicative action
Abstract
This paper aims at reflecting on the political action going on in schools in the light of Habermas' theory of communicative action. From this perspective, the theory is seen as a possibility of interpreting micro politics that are part of everyday interaction in schools. The contributions brought about by Habermas' theory of communicative action clarify the democratic relations that must be improved in an educational process which is based on the acceptance of the others and on peaceful and cooperative coexistence within a school that aims at educating citizens.
