Abstract
It is urgent that in the full dawn of the XXI century the University reflects its condition of being and exists in this world. It is necessary, however, that this reflection to be followed by good dose of opening for the plural society, and not only that one that scholars recognize. The University needs to converge to a ground that is far from the stigma of the “intellectual elite” since it divides the knowledge in castes and moves away the possibility of a dialogue among the diverse subjects and their knowledge. The present text has the intention to liven up this discussion. It shares a lived pedagogical experience from the Pedagogy Course at the Federal University of Pará, in the scope of the Biology Education discipline. The intervention was carried out with students and teachers of a public school of Abaetetuba/Pará and demonstrates that is possible to overcome the barriers to achieve the transformation.
