INFLUENCES IN THE CHOICE OF THE NUTRITION’S COURSE BY FRESHMEN IN PORTO ALEGRE (RS)

Abstract

The aim of this work was indentify in freshmen the influences on the choice of the nutrition’s course and them expectation, through an exploratory study. 135 freshmen from the nutrition’s course of Porto Alegre (RS) filled a questionnaire. The analyzed by the descriptive statistic indicates the interest in “the education of the people to a health alimentation” (26%) and “being a professional of the health area” (19%). There is more interest in act on the clinical nutrition area, in nutrition office, hospital and clinics (82%). Reports by the media influence the choice (76%) and the speeches by the acting nutritionists (52%). In conclusion its important show to the nutrition’s freshmen the possibilities of the professional action, and its role in the health promotion and the diversities of the action, in tune with the science advances, on the perspective of the society growing, the professional and personal achievement.
