Abstract

This paper proposes a reflection on the physical education teacher education (PETE), from the teaching experiences of the authors in this context. Accordingly, rescues different initiatives in teacher education program at the School of Physical Education (ESEF) Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in order to respond to the the teachers education policies, such as the professional guidelines that were steadily integrated into the program. The article discusses issues related to dealing with knowledge within the discipline Teaching Practice, the relationship between theory and practice and the research as a guiding principle of the stages, among other aspects.
