Abstract

The paper discusses the training of Early Childhood Education teachers by Pedagogy programs after National Educational Council/ Pedagogy Program Resolution n.1/2006, which estabilished the National Curricular Guidelines for the program. Its sources are the curricular legislation, Political Pedagogical Projects and curriculum matrices of in-class Pedagogy Programs of seven public universities of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, thought to be cultural and curricular discourses and policies. It is based on Early Childhood Education literary field as well as Teachers Training, and uses contributions from Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe’s Discourse Theory. It was concluded that the programs analyzed focus on a generalist education and do not take into consideration the qualified teacher profile, expressed by the National Curricular Guidelines for Early Childhood Education, to work especially with children from 0 to 3 years old.
