Abstract

Storytelling is a form of transmission of knowledge used even before the invention of writing. A good story can hold attention and create an emotional connection with the listener. Nowadays, when access to information is increasingly present, making classes interesting becomes a challenge. Thus, bringing contexts to content is fundamental to teaching. Storytelling can be used in a variety of ways, either in teaching the content of specific subjects or even as a way to promote socialization among students. In this context, the article presents the results of a systematic review of the literature, in the Scopus database, on storytelling in elementary school I, which verified the effectiveness of the use of storytelling on the various fronts researched, both in traditional and in digital format. The results show that this has been a subject researched internationally, but with few occurrences in Brazil, which points to the importance of the expansion of researching storytelling, since its practice contributes to the improvement of learning in education, especially in elementary school.
