Abstract

The following article seeks to understand the behavior of the Ação Libertadora Nacional and
the Movimiento de Izquierda Revolucionaria, two armed left institutions that had an active
performance during the civil-military dictatorship in their respective countries. By using
Comparative History as a methodology, it is expected to analyze the similarities and differences
between two of the most important armed left organizations in Latin America as a means to
understand their singularities.
