THE BARN/ATELIÊ GUASQUERIA IN URBAN SPACE
Abstract
The guasqueria, is a handcrafted craft that works with raw leather, has the technique of transmitting a know-how. The job is related to the work of the pawn that works in the farms, especially with the help of the horse. The objective is to reflect on the representation of aspects of the rural work of the pawn in the urban space through the production of guasqueria in a characteristic place, the shed, based on the concepts of space, place and landscape. The methodology used was a qualitative exploratory investigation with a semi-structured interview with three guasqueiros / pawns from the city of Jaguarão in Rio Grande do Sul (RS). As a result, the guasqueria represents the work of the pawn in the urban environment through its presence and its objects.
