FUXICAR AND EMBROIDER IN THE QUILOMBOLA COMMUNITY OF MITUAÇU: THE “FUXIQUEIRAS DO BEM”
Abstract
In this essay, we approach in photography the activities developed in the “Quilombo Stories Extension Project” (UFPB), especially the manual activities carried out in workshops with the group entitled Fuxiqueiras do Bem, in the quilombola community of Mituaçu (Conde/PB). In the workshops we sew fuxicos, embroidery, but also relationships of closeness and affection. The “methodological seams” were based on collective action and shared choices among the group. With the sequences of images presented here, we will show the details of the shared learning in the patches that became diverse artifacts.
