ETHNOGRAPHY IN THE EXTINCT TERREIRO DA GOMEIA (DUQUE DE CAXIAS / RJ)
Abstract
From the elaboration of the research of Thesis of Archeology, strongly marked by the intersection between Ethnoarchaeology, Oral History and Anthropology, the article will explain and discuss the results of the field work carried out with Afro-religious from an extinct candomblé that was located in Duque de Caxias (RJ), Terreiro da Gomeia. The tensions about the memory of the deceased leader, Joãozinho da Gomeia or Tata Londirá, put to the research articulations of the order relative to a search for the "positioning" of the researcher in front of the diverse reminiscences on the religious, at the same time that it was necessary to analyze the discourses and events recalled, in view of the conflict of recollections collected about the place. In particular, we will talk about the events of closure and destruction of the terreiro and how Archeology was fundamental for the elucidation of the diverse "voices" about the meaning of the extinct terreiro and of what we denominate Process of Ruination of the place.
