DESLOCC PARA MARAMBAIAR

ROTEIROS, NARRATIVAS E ESPAÇOS DE ARTISTA

Abstract

One of the tactics of DeslOCC [Research Group Displacements, Observances and Contemporary Cartographies - CNPq/UFPel, Pelotas, Brazil] is to walk, observe and discover the city: we plot courses of displacement, in groups or individually, we follow paths that lead us through many different narratives about space, life, about art, the city and its surroundings and about ourselves. Displacement is conceived as poetic, as picnic, as landscape, as video, as dialogue, as environment, as drawing, as sound, as photography, as postcard, cartographies, etc... Amid so many courses charted and trips taken in long and short walks, in 2012, we took various trips to Marambaia in Rio Grande, a small community near Pelotas, on the other side of the banks of the São Gonçalo Channel, it was there Marambaiar was brought into being, an ensemble of different ways of seeing and experiencing the locale.
