DO POSITIVISMO À COMPLEXIDADE
Abstract
This paper reveals the necessity to establish criteria or a methodology permitting a true dialogue between art and science. As such, it outlines a panorama of scientific/positivist and neoscientific criteria currently considered inadequate for understanding the arts in different contexts and periods, including universal criteria that are not even adequate for understanding science itself, since it also seeks new paths, curiously, bringing it closer to the humanities, that is, in the direction of dialogue, difference and complexity. Centuries of advances and setbacks, discoveries and wonders don’t impede recognizing the importance, possibility and necessity of a dialogue between science and art; discourse and life; order and chaos.
