Abstract

In this work some reflections upon the theme of symbol and imaginary, based on the theories of Gilbert Durand and Carl Gustav Jung, are discussed with the aim of contributing to a reflection concerning the importance of such studies to the field of education. This means bringing about a discussion about the Human Being as someone immersed in a World of symbols and meanings attached to an archaic a priori. Symbols and meanings are regarded as being the fondations of individual and colletive Imaginary.
