Abstract

Our investigation concerns Carlos Nelson Coutinho’s assertion that Gramsci, as addressing to the Theory of Knowledge, shows an idealist slip and refers to Historical and Social objectivity and Natural Objectivity as equivalent thus turning all the knowledge into expression of a class subjectivity. This study, on the contrary, claims that Gramsci, as critically approaching the historical process of the discovery-creation of all the Nature Sciences, realizes its revolutionary dimension and captures, through the science of his days, its mediating characters from the devenir in hummanity and in the word. His epistemology re-inserts hummanity in the word it describes.
