Abstract

The paper discusses a crucial issue for education: the crisis of reason. The analysis is based on the theorist who produced one of the most radical criticisms to western rationality – Horkheimer. It tries to demonstrate that Horkheimer does not discard the power of reason, and demands a theoretical and practical behavior of belief in an objective truth sanctioned by a reason which critically judges itself.
