Abstract

The official discourses about the educational reforms in course in the Mercosul can be classified as populist/messianic. These discourses accuse education for the present social problems, but declare what only a reformed education can guarantee a promising future for all the people. This article want to analyze some aspects of these discourses, and to compare him with some official informations about the educative infrastructure. This analysis and comparison show what the present reforms takes as reference the present precariousness and the interest of an ancient social and economic model more than the expectation concerning a new society for the new age.
