Abstract

This essay is an attempt to discuss to what extent pedagogical trends codify an ideal of human being and how this ideal reveals itself from the concepts of objectives and goals of education in a pluralistic society. Thus, an educational statute is suggested, the meaning of which would take into consideration the finite and existential dimensions of the human being (Dasein) based on a hermeneutics that questions the monolithic discourse of the metaphysics of consciousness embedded in the foundation of sciences and, a fortiori, of education. Moreover, this is as well a study that intends to make a contribution to a debate still current, and multivoiced, in the academic world – though not exclusively – and that here is called “crisis in education”, being thus an unconclusive study: on the contrary, it is unreservedly open so that other voices may participate in and add to its completion.
