Abstract

This article aims at discussing inter-ethnic relations in schools, considering the imaginary and social representations established in our society about black people. The elements considered relevant for the construction of imaginary and social representation in Brazil are brought out through a brief historical retrospective. The text also intends to approach the reflex of this imaginary in education, emphasizing the necessity of building a representation non excludent and non racist.
