A LUCIDEZ DAS TREVAS
Abstract
The paths that lead to reflection tend to minimize, or even eliminate, forms of intelligence that are parallel to rationality. To study the arts means to open oneself to specific forms of such parallel intelligence, which does not tread on reason or concepts. If one is not content with mere exterior exercises in reasoning, there is a lesson to be learned from the opaque, from the darkness, which is essential for the understanding of artistic objects. This lecture will try to find these parallel, and sometimes conflicting, forms among the rational and intuitive instruments within the artistic dimension.
