Abstract

This article is the result of the articulation between my experience as a public school teacher and the many readings performed during the seminar Work, Education and Social Movements, at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. This text indicates some moments of the school everyday life when the reflection heads toward a discipline of the eyesight; the aim is at picking up its depth and the possibilities of action that arise in that environment. Through the experience of observing the social relationships established at two sites – the bleachers and the square – an analogy is created between their meaning and the season when things happen: the winter. In this way, it is believed that “if we prefer to look , that we dare looking with the eyes of pratice, with the eyes of theory, especially with eyes that do not turn either people or relationships into things, but that transform “the winter of the school relationships into more tenuous senses of this word, such as the possibility of proximity or of a warmer closeness.
