THE SOCIAL PRODUCTION OF EXISTENCE
foundations of teaching and learning processes
Abstract
The author analyses the new social and political agenda in Brazil, doing denunciations and annunciations. He denounces the social, cultural and educational system whose foundations are the things, the merchandises, the capital, and the market. As a result of such logic, human relations are based upon an individualistic ethics centered in competition and in the construction of alienated human beings, defined exclusively as consumers. Nevertheless, he announces an alternative horizon of social, cultural and educational forms to be constructed, centered in the human being as the subject of history, in the fulfillment of his multiple necessities and rights, and in his permanent emancipation. What it’s all about is the construction of an ethics grounded on values such as solidarity, generosity, tolerance, equality and inclusion; an ethics of the care for human life and nature, as well as for educational processes capable of building up autonomous beings.
