a study about children in a suburb on the outskirts of Pelotas-RS
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to start a dialogue concerning the places that make up childhood. Such places were identified through the research project "Between school culture and childhood culture: a study about children living on an outskirts of Pelotas-RS", implemented by the Study Group on Childhood, School Culture and Inicial Years of Primary School. A close look at such places can contribute to an understanding that escapes from the adult vision about what children should be and becomes closer to what represents being a child as someone who can build his/her own place in society.
