THE SOCIAL REPRESENTATION ABOUT THE PROFESSIONAL FORMATION IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

This article analyzes the social representations of undergraduate students on the professional formation who whish, on the society where they live and on their social rules. The research was carried through as part of the first stage of a longitudinal inquiry that aims to follow the process of academic formation of undergraduate students of various undergraduate courses, at a private university, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, whose were freshmen in the first semester of 2003. In this stage, the participants had filled a questionnaire with closed questions that had aimed to identify the social-economic-cultural profile of the students and with opened questions, from which we analyzed their social representations. In this paper, we present the conclusions of this analysis, to which we used the technique of content analysis.
