PIERRE BOURDIEU’S CRITICAL MILITANCY
Abstract
This article debates Pierre Bourdieu's academic concepts and political militancy by highlighting some topics related to sociology of education. It tries to show that Bourdieu’s noticeable feature has always been his nonconformism; in his militancy, he tried to find some solutions. Therefore, to consider Bourdieu a reproductive author, or a scholar who merely designed academic research methods, does not allow us to see the author that searched for social alternatives in social and political militancy.
