Abstract

This paper reports the investigation into adolescent pregnancy and its incidence in Elementary Schools located in the western suburbs in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We confirmed the hypothesis that pregnancy at early age is concealed from others, due to the fact that Elementary School is historically identified with childhood: pregnancy becomes alien and even invisible to school. This investigation aims at providing contributions to teacher education regarding sexual education from a holistic perspective. We have named it "sexual-affective education". We carried out an extensive collection of material in order to organize workshops for Elementary School teachers in the university so that they can reflect and work on their imaginary regarding this issue. Thus, we are able to provide material for the teachers to help them in their schoolwork.
