Abstract

The present text brings to the reflection the process of teaching and learning mathematics with special focus to the systematicity of the mathematical concepts. Present an episode that makes part of the empirical data of a research, which wraps students of 5th series and it focuses measured of surfaces. This episode is analyzed considering the systematicity of the mathematical concepts and its implication in the conceptual process of preparation, from the approach cultural-historically developed by Vigotski and of ideas and mathematical concepts presented by Caraça. In the proposed understanding, the comprehension of the conceptual relations it is considered a conditioning factor to child, in school context, carries out a process of conceptual preparation and / or of evolution in the levels of this concepts. These are understandings that may unleash and fundament reflections up to give possibility, in a context of a school, actions that allowed to the scholar an appropriation of mathematical knowledge.
