This paper aims at examining possible meanings of the words knowing and knowledge and their implication in the context of teaching and teacher education. The search for the conceptions of knowing and knowledge is based on the belief that teachers go beyond the limits of their relations with knowledge in their everyday work, i.e., teachers broaden and modify them, besides evoking further knowledge
