Abstract

This paper results from an interview with the Swiss researcher Marie Christine Josso; it is mainly about her meeting with research groups in Rio Grande do Sul, especially the ones from Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) and Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS). This interview/conversation made us reflect on the education-research proposals suggested by different universities where Josso has been an interlocutor. Based on this interview, it can be said that this approach demands continuous reflection on oneself, individually and collectively. Listening to others, writing about oneself, and interpreting oneself and the others leads to responsibility towards the process which thinks about pedagogy in its deep commitment to knowledge production. Life stories and narratives arise as analytical thinking in pedagogy, rather than as mere descriptions.
