PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNICIANS’ IN PLASTICS

Abstract

From a critical perspective, this paper analyzes the issue regarding the professional qualification of technicians who have attended a technical course in High School. The reflection is based on a research which was carried out with former Thermoplastic Transformation students, current teachers and school administrators in a vocational school located in Sapucaia do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil – UNED/CEFET/RS. I investigated the technical education the students had gone through, the challenges they had to face, and the learning they experienced in their workplace. The concepts of professional qualification, competence and polytechnic education were used to carry out the analysis.
