IS THERE A JUSTIFICATIVE TO CREATE AN UNIVERSITY FOR TEACHERS OF THE BUENOS AIRES PROVINCE, ARGENTINA?

Between the hierarquization and the disciplinarization

Abstract

This paper analyzes the creation of the Provincial Pedagogical University in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, in 2006. The background related to its name and its provincial character is searched. Apart from considering congressional procedures to pass the law for its creation, the analysis is centered on the contents of the law, especially on the relationship between the university and the productive system, the government, the autonomy, the duties among other subjects. Likewise, it is pointed the necessity of a university for teachers since there are numerous universities in the province. It is concluded that this university seems to be at the service of the political power and support the disciplinary policies for teachers.
